Sorrento`s Food & Spirits in Flushing

Unfortunately my FAVORITE place for a golden brown cheese covered lasagne with homemade noodles paired with a lovely glass of red wine has apparently been sold and is now under new (mis)management. Mediterranean food is now on the menu. I actually love Mediterranean food; however this is the worst I’ve ever had. Skimpy grape leaves, clearly not fresh, were mushy and lukewarm. Lentil soup tasted like it came right out of a box (I could have stayed home and done that myself, thanks) and a mediocre salad topped with old, rubbery peppers . The atmosphere has totally changed as well. I had been going to Sorrentos since the 1980’s, I’m sorry to say that this evening will be my last visit. What a shame.

Had Italian last week, it was just not good. Decided to give the Mediterranean a try tonight. It was mostly terrible. The cheese pie was ok and the cheese cake is incredible, but the baba was slimy, the falafel looked and tasted like frozen dog biscuits and the shawarmas flavor was lacking immensely and the fries tasted like fish. Could have had better from the frozen food section at Kroger 😬 Possibly eating in would make for a more fresh experience but im not so sure.

Best authentic Italian around. We make special trips to eat here. The regular lasagna with meat sauce and Padres Delight are highly recommended!! They also have a great rewards club/app. Pizza and desserts are excellent. They give a full-size free dessert on birthdays. Cheesecake and Mafia Fudge Brownie are delicious. Atmosphere is cozy and elegant. Holiday decor is beautiful. Great place for family dinners and events, as well as a romantic place for couples.

By far the best Mediterranean food in the area!! The staff is very nice and knowledgeable, clean and comfortable atmosphere, and the best grape leaves and shawarma you’ll ever taste! If you want real authentic Mediterranean food- you have to go to Sorrento’s!!

Food was alright. Service was alright. They should stick to one type of cuisine, their buffet looked old and middle eastern food was subpar

Wow! Great food, I tried the meat pasta and the pizza as well as the made from scratch cheesecake. The new menu is also very appealing! I love that the restaurant is fully kosher, so there is no guessing for low quality pork meat in any of the foods. The owner personally came to our table to check in, and made some suggestions and helped navigate the new menu. He described everything as being made from scratch, and the taste definitely shows. Will definitely be back there soon!

Mediocre. Food was good. Service the waitress no personality. My family and I felt rushed out the door.

I had ordered an entree, appetizer and a drink. The man delivered my food and I realized after he left that they forgot my drink. I was just going to let it go, no big deal. Then the man came back, was very apologetic. He came back and brought me my drink, along with a piece of cheesecake and a coupon for my next order!! It turns out that the man who delivered my food, was the new owner!! I have to say he was the sweetest and most kind hearted man I've met. I definitely will order from here again!

1st time here, clean establishment, friendly staff and food was great! Salad was fresh, homemade bread delish. We had the chicken marsala and lasagna with meatballs, both were very tasty. Will definitely be back

The food was good. But I was little dissapointed to find out there was a 3.8% charge to use your credit or debit card. While it was on a flyer at the table it was not seen until later and in this day in age it seem wrong to charge when most people do not carry cash anymore.

Love this place. Great selection. Classic foods. Never disappointed. The lasagna and the calzones are especially delicious. The pizza is very good and is a mixture between thin and regular crust. Have not tried the deep dish. The gnocchi are also very tasty. Great areas to sit. Highly recommend.

Waited over an hour for our food. Many people came and went before we received our food. The food is average and not worth an hour plus long wait. I am sure this is not a usual occurrence but it happened and was very frustrating to wait that long for food. They were recently bought out and can't seem to decide if they are ant to be Greek or Italian. There is a really odd mix and they don't do either very well. I would go elsewhere.

If you like Italian food. This is the place to go. I would recommend the Padre's Delight.

Today is Mothers Day. Placed an order around 3pm for 530pm pickup. Card was charged, have email confirmation. Great. Go to pick up our dinner ($70 worth of food) to be told they closed online ordering 2 hours ago & they will not honor my order. Mind you, I placed the order 2.5 hours in advance, wasn't offered an apology and was basically out of luck on my Mothers Day dinner. We won't be back.

Quality has continued to fall with new ownership. We had what might be our worst pizza ever last week. The crust was terrible. May not return unless we hear things are improving. We've been loyal customers for 44 years. Sorry, but I can make a better pizza myself.

They burn our stromboli every time even though we ask lighly done ...Went back July 19, 18 ... We had a free entree because we signed up for there club ...Decided to try something else on the menu ... My husband got full order supreme lasagna. ... The lasagna has noodles, meat sauce, cheese, mushrooms and italian sausage ... With the lasagna comes dinner salad (lettuce, 2 grape tomatoes and small cubes of mozzarella) homemade bread ...I got the regular lasagna, noodles, cheese and meat sauce ... I had extra meat sauce $1 because I think it's too dry without it ...We also got garlic spikes ... They are the most tender and light breadsticks. .. The spikes comes with a bowl of meat sauce for dipping ...A much better experience BEWARE: They charge 3.5% fee if you use credit card or debit card ... I'm Posting pictures of the card about the fees ... they had the notices behind the salt and pepper where you don't notice it ... No fee for cash ...

This place was excellent great food I had to take my food home in a box very nice portion of food service was good.The restaurant inside is very beautiful.its definitely worth stopping in for a gathering or just to relax and enjoy a meal

Terrible service. It's no wonder the parking lot is empty and there's no liquor license. Decorations are nice tho!

The food and service were fine but I understand that the restaurant has now changed owners and will no longer have any pork products. Well you can't have an Italian restaurant and not have any pork so you will never see this old Italian guy in there again.Plenty of other Italian restaurants in the area that are and were way better even before this pork nonsense so do yourselves a favor and drive a little farther for good Italian food and skip what's becoming halalized Italian. The new owners would probably be better off just turning it into a Middle Eastern restaurant if the want to ditch the pork.

Recently went for the first time and had a wonderful experience. Food was delicious and the staff was very kind. Left very content! P.S. Try the cheesecake

Older restaurant that provides Italian and American fare. I had a small dinner salad (iceberg lettuce) and a Turkey reuban for a Saturday lunch. Both were good. Prices are very reasonable and the service was very good. The bathrooms were clean and in good repair. I would visit again

New ownership means change. The food is good. The addition of middle eastern food is good but the decision to not serve alcohol is something I consider not good. I always enjoy a glass of wine with my dinner out. We had the boneless chicken with garlic sauce and rice. It was delicious. Staff are the same friendly and helpful as always.

This is a nice restaurant to get a high-quality meal. The staff is polite and very respectful to ones needs. Every meal has always been wonderful. And you have to get the creamy Italian dressing for your salad.

Couldn’t wait to hit one of my fav restaurant in the area, while I’m in town for couple week’s (I live in southern Alabama now) I heard new owner took over... unfortunately I miss what it use to be. Disappointed in quality, Not what it use to be. 😔 they no longer off wine or beer. They no longer serve pork items... Italian cuisine pairs with wine, pizza and beer go hand in hand. By removing these items, I really don’t see this restaurant Surviving.

Terrible service, got drink order wrong, brought appetizer and salad same time made main dish wrong for both of us, took back remade and didn't offer to give us a discount.

Great atmosphere and staff. Food was excellent. Salad was very good. French fries were outstanding. And the stromboli was most delicious. Definitely going to visit more often when I'm in flushing area.

Be sure to check out this hidden gem in Flushing! One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to, and trust me I know Italian. From the decor to the authentic dishes this place has it all! If you have tried it, you’re missing out an a true Mediterranean experience :-)

Food was good but patrons should be aware they charge a 3.9% fee for using debit or credit. If you want to avoid the fee you have to pay in cash. Wish I would have known in advance I would have brought cash. Service was excellent.

Food was very good, service was great. Food portions are very generous. The restaurant looks clean and modern. Would highly recommend.
